LightWave 3D 4.0 features cross-platform support for the Amiga, Windows PCs, and the SGI or DEC Alpha. This means that an animator working at home on his Amiga or PC can bring that work to the office and continue with it on the SGI there, thus allowing the creative process to continue beyond the typical workday. For high-quality character animation, LightWave offers a skeletal system called Bones, inverse kinematics, object morphing, displacement mapping, front projection mapping, and many other cinematic features not found in other 3D packages.
